I went to DBKK building to renew my companies’ trading licenses.
The building has gone through major renovation last year. It looks more spacious, comfortable and organized now. There were many counters too.
I guess when Kota Kinabalu is declared city in 2002, DBKK had also planned to improve the main landmark of the city, which is the city hall building.
Even the numbering machine was upgraded to touch screen.
How cool is that!
Being the first Monday in 2009, it was crammed with people. People with so many purpose that need to be done on this particular day.
From my observation, most of them came to renew trading license.I obtained my number from the numbering machine. Upon receiving the piece of paper, I blinked in disbelieve and was speechless.

It’s 3.59pm in the afternoon and there are still 278 people waiting to be served!
The funny thing was, it said;
‘SILA DUDUK. ANDA AKAN DILAYAN SEBENTAR LAGI’
Hello, Kerusi pun tiada suda macamama mau duduk. Sebentar pun tidak boleh ini terlampau ramai orang.
Instead of that, it should be like this
So I took off and went to office. Looks like I have to endure this whole thing again tomorrow morning.
MORAL OF THE STORY:
Any business related with government / bank / or whatever thing that need to queue, it is better to do it early in the morning. The chances to finish dealing early is most likeable.

On December 15, I drove to Tanjung Aru after having a drink at Damai. At the Tanjung Aru traffic light, I saw a man leaning on one side, at the left side of a car, while waiting for the green light. The car was just beside to the other car in front of me.
There was no one in the car, and it is unusual to stand closely to a car unless something happened. It was 11.35pm and it was quite shadowy, there were a few cars in the other direction waiting for their turn.
I was eager to know what is happening to that man, or the car. I looked around wondering if there was an argument, mishap or something appalling was going on.
A few seconds later, he walked slowly to the drivers seat.
“ooo, kereta dia pulak”
As the light turned green, he and the car in front of me drove away.
I was just about to step on the gas pedal when I realized something absurd.
There was a puddle, right where the man left.

After leading to an unpopular war with Iraq, US President Bush, in his last day as a premier, finally had ‘taste’ of the weapon he was long referring too.

Alas, the semester is finally over. After a demanding final paper, the tenseness, especially finance paper, is over. Next semester will be my final semester. Hopefully that I’ll finish on the dot.
So currently I’m thinking a topic for my thesis. With any luck in next few days I can think of something that is related to my work. *sigh*

If you feel like eating at a new place, try different menu etc, why not visit Asian Cuisine restaurant. It is located at Likas Plaza, opposite to Klinik Sihat, just at the corner.
It serves a variety of dishes, in my opinion, is quite decent.
I enjoyed having my dinner there. The food and drink is good, plus the price is reasonable. It is better than most of other Malay restaurant, which is usually overcharged and most importantly, TIDAK SEDAP.
Taking account of taste, location and service, I’ll rate this one 4 out of 5.

I’ve been in hiatus for a few weeks. Too much thing was going on. I just can’t find time to update regularly. Plus my internet connection has been transferred to Tawau. So I was left helpless. Back to STONE AGE. I have to take extra effort to check emails and surf internet elsewhere.
